2026 Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Fellowship – United States
Pfizer External Research & Grants (ER&G) (formerly Global Medical Grants & Partnerships) supports the global healthcare community’s independent initiatives (e.g., research, quality improvement, or education) to improve patient outcomes in areas of unmet medical need that are aligned with Pfizer’s medical and/or scientific strategies.
Pfizer’s ER&G competitive grant program involves a publicly posted Request for Proposal (RFP) that provides detail regarding a general area of interest, sets timelines for review and approval, and uses an internal Pfizer review process to make final grant decisions. Organizations are invited to submit an application addressing the knowledge gaps as outlined in the specific RFP.
The goal of this RFP is to offer salary support for IBD fellowship programs. It is our intent to support fellowship programs at institutions with clinical training programs in regions where there are continued workforce challenges and that have a strong focus on healthcare equity, clinical practice, research, education, and advancing the standard of care in IBD (i.e., IUS, AI endoscopy, machine learning) to further the understanding of IBD.
Programs that prioritize diversity and inclusion principles, focus on health equity initiatives, and address health care disparities and social determinants of health are strongly encouraged. Preference will be given to programs that are located in states underserved by number of IBD fellowships and serving an underserved population. Grants will be awarded based on the strength of the requesting organization’s ability to provide expert mentorship, training, and guidance to the fellow.
