Medical Education Grants: Cardiovascular-Heart Failure and/or Chronic Kidney Disease
Independent Medical Education (IME) Grants
Boehringer Ingelheim is proud to provide Independent Medical Education (IME) Grant support for evidence-based, fair-balanced, unbiased healthcare professional (HCP) education to help close clinical and practice gaps, improve the quality and delivery of patient care, and enhance behavioral change.
An independent educational program includes both continuing medical education (CME) and non-CME programs. These programs may be at the national, regional, or local level and may include didactic presentations (eg, symposia at educational meetings, grand rounds, and regional workshops), web-based programs, print and electronic monographs, and innovative educational formats.
Pathophysiology, Prevalence, Burden of Disease and Emerging Evidence
- Increase HCP knowledge of the role of aldosterone in heart failure (HF) and/or chronic kidney disease (CKD), including its impact on cardiovascular and renal diseases
- Increase HCP knowledge of the prevalence, patient population, burden of disease, and ongoing clinical trials associated with HF and/or CKD
Diagnosis
- Increase HCP competence in identifying patients at-risk of developing HF
- Increase HCP knowledge and confidence in management strategies and guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) for early identification of HF progression aiming to reduce hospitalizations, mortality risk, and urgent HF visits
Clinical Management
- Increase HCP competence in developing comprehensive care plans and selecting GDMT for patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), and/or CKD, addressing unmet clinical needs
